Instructions for EBP Project Part 1: Asking the (Clinical) PICO Question
Write a brief case scenario where you identified the BSN clinical nursing care practice you selected for your EBP Project Final Paper EBP Poster. The evidence practice I have selected is handwashing to prevent infections in patients in a cardiac ICU.
Develop and write your PICO question of effect of intervention (population, intervention, comparison, and outcome) for your proposed BSN nursing care practice case scenario.
Provide current practice standards or clinical practice guidelines from your clinical facility for that BSN nursing care practice.
Search for current research evidence about potential interventions [the (I) in PICO] for improving outcomes. Hint: Search for a recent Systematic Review report on the topic on your PICO.
Write at least 3-paragraphs with a descriiption of the BSN nursing care practice, the significance of the problem, and what intervention(s) does the research evidence support for your desired outcomes. Use Level 1 headings, in text and reference page citations.
Write current research evidence citations in text and reference page.
Write your Initial post which includes:
A brief case scenario
PICO question, practice standards
Current practice standards or clinical practice guidelines
3 paragraphs with the descriiption of the BSN nursing care practice, the significance of the problem, and an intervention your literature supports
Submit your initial post by Friday @ 11:59 pm on the EBP Part 1 discussion board.
Write your responses to at least two of your peers as the final post which includes:
Does the question identify the patient or population from the case scenario?
Is the significance of the clinical care problem stated with citation(s) supporting it?
Is the intervention or care practice stated with a comparison intervention or care practice applicable?
Is there a single measurable outcome stated?
