How does the theory relate to the variables in your smac.
October 7, 2022
Assignment:
1. Write a theoretical framework for your study using the directives below. (see example below)
2. Develop a hypothesis statement for your study H0 and HA statement. ( pick the strongest variable (one of the independent variables) that you believe impacts your Y variable the most. Develop a null and hypothesis statement. (if you have already submitted it review comments and revise accordingly.
3. Develop the purpose of the study. (should be a small paragraph about why the research is needed).
Example (x variables pay, management, benefits, incentives). My gut tells me that pay is the strongest variable. I develop my statements)
Ho: when pay (x1) increases productivity(y) increases. (must have the x and Y variable in the statement. Keep it simple)
Ha: when pay(x1) increases there is no impact on productivity(y) levels.
Begin to develop the survey for your research. It must be in the form of a Likert Scale and you must address all of the variables in your SMAC.
Theoretical Framework
Pick a theory that supports the investigation that you are doing. The theory must be an actual theory and not one that the students have made up. Examples of theories are Maslow’s Need Theory, Theory X and Y, Hertzberg Motivation Theory. Go to Ebsco’s database and type in your Y variable and theory.
Once you have selected a theory do the following:
1. Define the theory with APA support.
2. Indicate how the theory applies to the study.
3. How does the theory relate to the variables in your SMAC. Illustrate in a figure, label the figure with a number and name, and provide the discussion that was just reviewed below the illustration.
The only difference discussed in the YouTube video is that the theoretical address must be placed in its own section instead of in the literature review section of the paper.
Students should start thinking about the survey they will use for their research. The survey will be in a Likert Type format (strongly agree 5, agree 4, neutral 3, disagree 2, strongly disagree 1). Remember that as you begin to think of your survey every variable in your study the X (independent) and Y (dependent variable only 1) must be addressed on the survey. Survey must be approved by professor before distribution of it. Survey Example MGT 690 Questionairre.pdf

The survey must be in a 5-7 point Likert Scale.
