Your writing assignment for this semester will be about a psychological disorder of your choice. Now that we have discussed what behavioral disorders are, along with some examples of such, I am tasking you with choosing one of them to write about.

You will be looking at how YouTube explain disorders versus how professionals in the field explain them. Once you have chosen a disorder, please find 1 peer-reviewed journal article about that disorder and read it. Additionally find at least 1 YouTube video about the chosen disorder (can be professional, someone’s personal experiences, whatever as along as it discusses the disorder!). Once you have done both of these, you will write about what you learned in each medium (journal article and video), and then discuss how the information was similar/different/etc.

I want this to be interesting for you, so feel free to describe why you chose the disorder you did if you would like. However, this needs to be in APA formatting and college-appropriate, so keep things at least a bit professional.

Grading Breakdown (Each worth up to 10 points):

Word Length – 300 to 400 words
Use 1 peer-reviewed journal article (Use the library’s website (Links to an external site.). I recommend choosing Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, Psychology Collection, or PsycINFO.) Also, don’t forget to use at least 1 YouTube video!
Grammar and spelling – I won’t be crazy strict about this, but it needs to be easy to read and college-appropriate, please. Use Grammarly (Links to an external site.), it is your friend!!! In fact, to get credit for this section, I need proof that you used Grammarly by including your Grammarly Report. Let me know if you don’t know how to do this.
Makes Sense – Hopefully, this is an easy one, but make your assignment make sense! Please don’t just try to cram a lot of vocabulary and concepts in just to do it. Make sure the information flows, makes sense with your personal examples, and such
