This final course assignment is based upon the policy analysis that you will conduct on your selected health policy problem. This was previously approved by the instructor in Module 4.
Review the structure outlined in Chapter 14 of the text and also examine both the Policy Brief Toolkit and the Issue Brief Example. Both of these were previously presented in Module 1 of the course. Then proceed to engage in an analysis process of your selected policy problem and frame your findings and recommendations in a 6-7 page developed policy brief. For purposes of this assignment, you should assume that key policymakers have engaged your services as a policy analyst and they are asking for assistance to explain issues, analyze options and make recommendations to them about potential policy solutions.
Be sure to include all essential elements of a policy analysis that are outlined in Chapter 14 of the Wilensky and Teitelbaum text. These include:

Problem identification that is neutral and able to be analytically managed
Background Section that addresses the factual information needed to understand the problem
Landscape Section that includes key stakeholders and factors needing consideration
Options Section 3-5 policy alternatives for policymakers to consider with the pros and cons of each
Recommendations Section that addresses one (1) option as your recommendation as to why this option is preferred and what can be done to mitigate any potential negative consequences associated with it

Remember to check out key features addressed in both the Policy Brief Toolkit and the Issue Brief Example that can help you to frame your policy analysis effectively. Both of these tools were previously presented for review in Module 1. In addition re-visit Chapter 14 of the text, The Art of Structuring and Writing a Health Policy Analysis. You previously read this text chapter in Module 1 but should review it again before completing this final assignment.
