Disputes about Māori land can be complex and difficult. The new mediation regime implemented as a part of the changes to Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 establishes a dispute resolution process based on tikanga Māori to assist owners of Māori land to resolve disagreements and conflict about their land.
