For this week’s discussion, we will be comparing the editorial case materials and citators between the three databases.
1. Select a case and pull it up in Bloomberg, Lexis and Westlaw. Provide the case name.
2. Explain how you searched for the case in each database (e.g., by citation, natural language etc).
3. Compare the editorial headnotes/topical summaries before the opinion in the databases. Describe your results and explain the differences.
4. Compare the citators (keycite, shepard’s and bcite) for the case. Describe your results and explain the differences.
5. After reviewing your case and the database features, do you have a preference for one database? Explain why or why not.
