Below are the definitions of both an emergency and a crisis. There are apparent differences between the two. Give an example of each that has happened recently in sports, and why is it important to know the difference between the two?Emergency: A serious situation or occurrence that happens unexpectedly and demands immediate action, which can be dealt with with existing organizational capacities.Crisis: A single event or a continued occurrence threatens an organization’s core and cannot be addressed with the existing organizational capacities. A crisis has three characteristics that differentiate it from other emergencies: uncertainty, time pressure, and the potential for substantial damage.
