For the Proposal, you will submit a paper that outlines the focus of your Group Curriculum project.
Keep in mind the following as you work on this component of the group curriculum project:
To complete this assignment, you should have your evidence in place, largely due to work completed from your population and topic selection, as well as your literature review. (See Previous Assignments of topic attached)
In planning your sessions, focus on the big picture, as this is a proposal; the details of each session will come later. For this assignment, you can use an outline format to describe what will happen in each session. For example, you should describe how long each session will be, how many can attend each group, the level of training needed to facilitate the groups, along with how you plan to conduct each of the group sessions. If you plan to use handouts or worksheets, you can type “worksheet on XYZ topic will be used here” but you should also indicate how the worksheet will be used to demonstrate or help clients understand something. Some detail is needed in this assignment, but an outline format for the sessions is satisfactory for this proposal.
You should also include what you believe clients will achieve by participating in this group. This requires presenting information to clients in a manner they can comprehend and that they have some input on what they hope to get out of the group or what they are trying to change. Some aspect of your group sessions should include rapport building and goal planning. There should also be some sort of “wrap-up” in the final session.
Include the following in a Word document:
The intended recipients of this group.
The focused topic for the group.
The therapeutic modality(s) to be used.
A summary of the evidence of the efficacy of the therapy(s) used with this population.
An outline of each session (each group should have 6 to 8 sessions).
