You will use Microsoft Word to create a document that includes an APA Style title page (1 page), body (1 page with APA Style level headings and in-text citations that includes an opening, literature review, and closing), and reference section (4 sources). Make sure that your entire document (including your reference list) is double spaced. It is important to set your “before” and “after” spacing to zero. Also note that APA Style in-text citations require only the last names of the authors and the year of publication. Do not present article titles in the body of your document. Article titles should only appear in your reference list. I have included the three empirical articles that must be used, you will have to look for the fourth one that ties into the research question that you come up with based on all 4 articles.
Tips:
You will create the Introduction section of a research proposal using THREE empirical articles and ONE empirical peer-reviewed article you will find on your own. You must find similarities between all FOUR articles to develop your research question. Use your research question to look for an empirical, peer-reviewed journal article that addresses your research question in some way. The article you find does not have to answer your research question completely, but it should provide you with enough information for you to formulate a hypothesis and/or prediction for your study. A literature review describes relevant previous research on a topic. As you begin the writing process, remember to act like an objective reporter, making sure the information is in your own words and that you are crediting your sources using APA Style in-text citations and APA Style references. Even though you are encouraged to use your own personal experiences and perspectives in other types of writing, you will want to generally avoid these in scientific writing. More specifically, because you are summarizing research conducted by others, you should avoid using first person and second person pronouns in your literature review (see image below).
