each of the five annotated articles should be included in alphabetical order by author, and should be headed by the reference for the article (in APA 7th ed), followed by a summary and evaluation of the key issues you have identified in the article, using paragraphs. Your annotation should also provide an evaluation of the topic in relation to other comparable theories/literature in general (noting the above point) . Your annotation needs to address the following six criteria (N.B. these are areas that your annotated bibliography needs to address, not headings that are required in it). Summary: Succinctly and accurately summarise the key points of the article. Focus: How is the topic approached within the journal article? Is this approach narrow or broad in scope? Does this article take a central position in the topic area or is it located on the periphery (use your knowledge based on the course materials to inform this – you do not need to read further)? Relevance: Is the article appropriate for its intended audience? Could any areas be improved? How well qualified is the author in the topic area? How well does the discussed topic fit with other literature/theories (use your knowledge based on the course materials to inform this – you do not need to read further)? Quality: Are the arguments logically presented? Do the arguments make sense? Is scholarly evidence used to support points? Are alternative perspectives acknowledged? Are topics covered in enough depth? Have opposing pieces of evidence been omitted? Does the information summarise what is discussed in other literature (e.g. as a literature review) or does it offer something new? Is the information based on primary data, secondary data, based on reports which summarise events, or other’s research findings? Accuracy: How recent is the article? Even if it is a recent article, published within the last 2 years, does it refer to recently published material? Can some of the ideas be supported by other articles you have read in the area? Implications: What implications for Industrial and Organisational Psychology practice have you identified whilst reading the article? Have you demonstrated that you have accurately interpreted the content of the article? Have you demonstrated an ability to apply your interpretation of the article to real workplace settings?
